WATCH NIGHT SERVICE:
The Watch Night Services in Black communities that we celebrate today can be traced back to gatherings on December 31, 1862. On that night, Blacks in the North came together in churches and private homes, and in the South they met in secret places anxiously awaiting news that the Emancipation Proclamation had become law. Join us at Bethel A.M.E on New Year’s Eve as we reenact this special night. Anyone interested in participating in the play entitled “Freedom’s Eve” is asked to contact Liz Banks by November 11th.
As part of our efforts to become a “Spiritually and Physically Fit Church”, Beasley-Brown is the site for “Chicago Steppin” dance classes. The classes are held weekly on Tuesday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The donation for the class is $5.00. Invite your family and friends to enjoy the benefits
of this healthy workout.
